Donald Trump gave a big speech to all his supporters in Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night. Well, wait… all of his supporters??
In his first speech since the arraignment, the former POTUS reacted to his arrest with less vitriol than we expected – we presume that he may have turned his back on that end. Truth Social to post. To a group of followers gathered in the ballroom of his Palm Beach resort, Trump boasted about what a wonderful man he was — and what a wonderful family he had, saying:
“I’ve built a great company with my family, a great company… I have a son here who has done a great job, and I have another son here who has done a great job. And Tiffany and Ivanka. And Barron will be great someday. He’s tall, he’s tall and he’s smart… But I have a great family and they did a great job and we really appreciate that. They’ve been through hell.”
Yes even Baron Trump got a shoutout for being so tall!
Most of Trump’s relatives sat in the front row: Eric Trump and his wife Lara, Donald Trump Jr and his fiancée – Fox news host Kimberly Guilfoyle, Tiffany Trump and her husband.

But two members of the fam were conspicuously absent. Donald named daughter Ivanka Trump, but she wasn’t there. In fact, she hasn’t been around to support Dad in a while. Don’t forget she wasn’t at his official 2024 announcement either! And when he was finally charged, her statement was…well, diplomatic, shall we say. Or at least she didn’t join his other sycophantic henchmen by calling it an all-caps WITCH HUNT.
The other member of course? Melanie Trump. Notably, she was not by his side, as he begged not guilty on allegations stemming from his hush money payment to the adult film star he allegedly pursued raw early in their marriage. But hey, that was all the way in New York City! She now lives in Palm Beach, baby! That would have been a hassle and a half! So she was obviously there to greet him when he got home, right? And held his hand on the podium? Stood in the crowd and cheered?
Yes, not so much. Anyway, that was all… downstairs. Okay, yeah, it doesn’t look great.
Where was she? Well, she just might be not support Donald in this. After all, she took care of the ever great baby Barron when her husband was plowing a porn star that time. The thing he allegedly tried to cover up right before the 2016 election. And a source who knows her in her new home in Florida told People last month she was NOT about the whole thing. They claimed “she doesn’t sympathize with Donald’s plight”:
“She stays angry and doesn’t want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] named.”
So maybe you need to be in a room full of people – and Marjorie Taylor Greene And Matt Gaetz — all talking about that one Trump scandal she still holds a grudge about? Maybe she just didn’t feel like it.
It is striking that Melania has not officially released a statement about her husband’s charges. But ignoring it is making a statement in its own way. And that statement is not one of support. Just sayin’.
