Rome, August 27: Milan achieved two wins in many matches in the new season of the Italian League, as it beat Turin 4-1 in the San Siro, while Hellas Verona beat Roma 2-1.
Milan began its new season with a 2-0 victory in the opening round through goals from Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic, and the duo continued their frightening conditions in Saturday’s match.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute when Giroud failed to reach Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s pass, but Pulisic fired the ball into the empty net.
Despite Bear Shores’ equalizer three minutes later, the Rossoneri quickly regained the lead in the 43rd minute when Giroud scored a penalty, before Theo Hernandez slotted it over the onrushing goalkeeper from a tight angle just after half-time.
Milan got the win in the 64th minute when Rafael Leao got another penalty kick for Giroud to score a brace.
Roma had to wait for their first win as they were beaten 2-1 after a 2-2 draw in the first round.
Two goals from Ondrej Duda and Cyril Ngon put Verona firmly ahead in the first half.
Newcomer Houssem Aouar scored his first goal for Roma, but the Giallorossi were unable to turn the score around.
