Mumbai– Ranbir is prepping to portray Ram: Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Rama in the upcoming film ‘Ramayana’ directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Although the news has not been officially confirmed by the makers, recent reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor is all set to abstain from alcohol and meat to emulate the purity associated with the character of Lord Rama in the film.

There is talk that actors associated with the film are being guided to adopt a lifestyle of self-restraint. South actress Sai Pallavi will play the role of Sita in the film. While KGF fame actor Yash will play the role of Ravana in this.

According to the information, Ranbir Kapoor will stop consuming alcohol and meat to play the role. This is not a condition for this or he will not take this decision because of health problem but he will take this decision to play the role of Lord Ramchandra purely. The shooting of the upcoming Ramayana movie will begin in February. The first part of the film will mainly focus on the story of Lord Rama and Sita, including the abduction of Sita by Ravana. The production house has also tied up with Oscar winning company DNEG for the VFX work of the film.

Meanwhile, producer Bhushan Kumar is busy promoting the upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, directed by Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in lead roles. Anil Kapoor has played the role of Ranbir’s on-screen father in this. Rashmika plays Ranbir’s girlfriend, while Bobby Deol plays the villain. The film will hit the big screens on December 1. The makers had pushed the release date of ‘Animal’ from August to December to avoid a box office clash with Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’. Although the makers have been successful in this, the film will compete with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office.
