Election Commission has announced the polling date for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections. Voting will be held here in two phases (November 7 and 17). Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the names of candidates for 85 out of 90 seats. In this way, the Congress party will announce the first list of candidates tomorrow (Sunday), the Chief Minister of the state Bhupesh Baghel said on Saturday.

When asked about the party’s strategy to field a candidate against former Chief Minister Raman Singh on the Rajnandgaon seat, Baghel said, ‘The party will reveal its strategy after the list of candidates comes out. After the announcement of the list, it will be known who will fight against Raman Singh.

Meanwhile, in the first phase, voting will be held for 20 assembly constituencies in the state. Out of these 19 seats are held by Congress. BJP has one seat (Rajnandgaon) represented by Raman Singh. In the 2018 assembly elections, Congress had nominated Karuna Shukla from Rajnandgaon. Who left BJP and joined Congress. In this election, Karuna Shukla was defeated by Raman Singh by 16,933 votes. Karuna Shukla passed away in 2021.
